Abstract

This paper explores the role that virtual reality could play in re-engaging young people in civic education. To reach young people and to encourage them to participate in political discourse, it is time to use the media that they use every day. The youth comprise the largest segment of voters in the United States (Fry, 2016) and to interest them in political action, it is time that they be reached using the tools that they are comfortable with. Virtual reality is one such tool. The paper explores how virtual reality can be used in the civic education of young people.
