Abstract

Faculty members who teach in the Second Life environment face many challenges in planning, teaching, and evaluating instruction. This session focuses on a demonstration of a unique Second Life teaching environment, an explanation of the creation of that environment, and a discussion of the challenges posed for faculty members who utilize this distinctive learning setting. Participants will see a live demonstration of a Second Life classroom setting used by two different instructors. The demonstration will focus on the challenges, intricacies, and successes experienced through creating and teaching in this In-World environment. Sample learning activities and Second Life experiences will be demonstrated live during the conference session.
