Abstract

This paper reports on an investigation into students’ enhancement of learning through blended learning by undergraduate teacher education students across two faculties at an Australian University. Students in their 3rd year of a teacher preparation program were introduced incrementally to online learning through the University’s preferred LMS (Learning Management System) Blackboard. Students completed a questionnaire prior to the blended learning experience and again post-learning to gauge their skills, interest and experience with blended learning. The results suggest that students’ overall learning experience was enhanced by the blend of face-to-face tutorials, formal lectures, online discussion and online assessment tasks. These insights are crucial for teacher educators involved in the design of eLearning sites in which enhancement of the learning experience is desired.
