Abstract

Mobile wireless devices have been described as "tools of mass disruption" that will help spark a period of innovation for learning technology stakeholders. The changes that mobile technologies are likely to introduce in teaching, training, learning, and research practice are examined, from its growth in popularity to getting started and delivering effective mLearning. The following content will be addressed in this presentation: 1. Defining and understanding both what we hear and what we know about m-learning, 2. m-Learning’s growth and popularity, 3. a demonstration of mLearning, 4. early trends and its impact on mLearning, 5. lessons learned, 6. major considerations when considering mLearning, and 7. how to get started in mLearning. Throughout the session, participants will be presented with thought questions and invited to participate in dialogue with the presenter and with each other.
