Abstract

As part of a PT3 grant to improve teacher preparation for technology integration, we are developing a rich database of "best practices" lessons delivered in a digital video database. Preservice teachers can view full lessons of exemplary teachers in action. They can view reflective interviews recorded with the best practices teachers before and after their lessons. Preservice teachers can also access all the videotaped teachers' actual lesson materials and lesson plans. Follow-up commentaries from the teacher, along with technology and content-area experts are also available. In our demonstration we will show one complete video lesson, on elementary mathematics, along with excerpts from lessons on high school physical science and language arts. A discussion of the project's development and evaluation, along with future plans for research, will conclude the session.
