Using Second Life for teacher training: Opportunities and challenges

Abstract
Building the college in Second life (SL) was aimed to enable students’ experience in teaching and learning in virtual worlds. The College can hold virtual lectures and conferences in the new virtual College building as well as virtual activities such as fitness lab and theater. However, there are challenges in using SL Environment. The students need to download a software and face difficulties due to security systems or insufficient requirements. Some of them suffer from limited bandwidth or poor graphic display. Furthermore, students complained on audio problems and communication difficulties. In this round table we will present the Kibbutzim college island, plans and programs focusing on the fitness lab opportunities and chalanges.
