Abstract
The Bush-Hewlett Grant, "Building Virtual Learning Communities," works on faculty development and establishing new pedagogies through Web research and publication. At the very center of this project is the concept of constructivism, applied to faculty and grant staff formulation of student support, and to project-driven student group work. Our assessments and feedback allow us to "learn as we go," making decisions about work with real audience, basing those decisions on relevant prior experience. This cadre of pedagogical reformers decenter the classroom and encourage collaborative work from students in their classes. The URL for our grant, still with much work "in progress," is www.spelman.edu/bush-hewlett.
