Abstract

Social networking sites are prevalent among college students nowadays. These digital generations use social networking sites not only for personal life but also schoolwork. Integrating social networking sites into classrooms is a current trend in higher education in order to order to increase the interactions between students, instructors, and administrative workers. However, the ubiquity of Internet infrastructure in higher education raises the concern of social networking sites addiction. This research investigated social networking sites addictions in college students. A total of 150 Taiwan college student participated in this study. The results suggest college students felt uncomfortable or had missed something socially important without accessing social networking sites frequently. Students reported they accessed social networking sites through mobile devices or computers during class-time.
