Abstract

This paper presents the challenges that digital immigrants face in designing conceptual user interfaces to improve computer usability for digital natives. Currently, most graphic and interface designers are digital immigrants while their target audiences are digital natives. That poses a serious challenge for designers, as certain established ceremonies that most metaphorical designs are based on, have to do with sensibilities based on already acquired knowledge from the every day lives of digital immigrants.
