Abstract
The purpose of this round table session is to discuss the effect of the use of interactive whiteboards as an instructional tool in elementary schools. The data collected from elementary school teachers regarding their perspectives of the use of interactive whiteboard and their responses to attitude surveys. The examples of implementations of using interactive whiteboard in the State of California will be provided and discussed. The following questions will be structured for group discussion. 1.What do teachers see as the value of using interactive whiteboards in their classrooms and what beliefs do they hold about this technology? 2.What are the factors constrain or enhance the use of this technology in teaching and learning? 3.What learning outcomes are supported by the use of this technology? 4.What pedagogy approaches are being used with this technology?
