Abstract

A generation gap generally can be construed as a difference between values and attitudes between generations. These differences can be further exasperated by a difference in experiences and interests. Given this, we have often experienced a generational digital divide. While this is nothing new, with the rapid change in technology and continuing advances in internet communication and networking, is the generational digital divide combined with the characteristics of Millenials building a potential lack of understanding between teachers and students that can impact the learning environment? This paper describes a research study implemented to explore this question and study the implications for teacher preparation programs.
