Abstract
In this paper, we will propose a new approach of technology integration, from a perspective of system design, viewing technology integration as the development of an information system. We will demonstrate the new approach within a conceptual framework that consists of a three dimension (3-D) information technology integration system, and two models. The first model describes and examines the macro-processes of the integration over years – Information Technology Integration Life Cycle; and the second model illustrates and inspects the micro-processes in any single case of integration – Information Technology Integration Design Model. We will also present some successful experiences of using the 3-D system and design model in our teaching, research, and student technology integration project design.
