Abstract

"How did you do it?" "What makes your online education program so successful?" "How did you get your faculty to agree to teach online and your administration to support the funding?" "How do you get the students engaged and complete the class?" Repeatedly, education professionals pose these questions at many conference and workshop presentations. Afterwards, the subsequent email and phone calls to the panelists confirm the overwhelming need for solutions to these issues in online education and academia today. There is no single prescriptive solution; however, successful online education programs do exist and share many common practices. Based on first-hand experience and a review of successful models, the presenters will offer guidelines for educational institutions and professionals who seek insight into the complexities of online education. This presentation will serve as an excellent resource for creating an online education program or for improving a struggling one.
