Abstract
Faculty in undergraduate nursing programs routinely use high-fidelity patient simulators to immerse students in realistic clinical situations. However, it is often too costly to implement these programs outside the classroom. Consequently, we developed low-cost, interdisciplinary teaching vignettes in 3-D virtual learning environments. Using available technology, students can use these vignettes to engage in role-play with peers or experts outside of the classroom.
