Abstract

The University of Waikato has a very successful e-learning story to tell. This paper looks at how the Waikato Innovation Centre for e-Education (WICeD® - pronounced 'wicked') team develops e-learning software and explains why it has been so successful since its formation. A research project highlighted some particular tools and techniques used daily in WICeD to focus development efforts on the teaching and learning rather than on the technology. This paper reflects on the use of those tools and makes suggestions for the formation and development of any e-learning development team as a result.
