Abstract

Community learning has become very popular especially after the emergence of Web 2.0 social media technology. This presentation will share with audiences the research study that was conducted at the Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston through the use of Wiki tools to promote community learning. The presentation will cover 1) student perception of building learning community, 2) student peer learning through community learning activities, and 3) knowledge acquisition through Wiki activities. The study concluded that with careful and purposeful planning and design of community learning, students could benefit greatly in their knowledge acquisition and professional preparation.
