Abstract

The article reflects upon the shift from traditional teaching/ learning patterns to new learning/ teaching cultures. It hints at the crucial situation of implementing e-learning into schools at Germany as well as at questions of teacher training curricula at German universities and of further trainings. The Institute of Education/ Media Education invites (prospective) teachers to re-consider outdated didactic learning/ teaching concepts - aiming at revealing possibilities of developing an innovative and sustainable ICT use (improving classroom teaching). Prospective teachers are encouraged to experience appropriate didactic learning/ teaching frames to e-learning by attending the obligatory online-application MekoLLi: Creating Multimedia Learning Environments in a Constructivist Context. The further training Use of New Media in Everyday Life, at School, During Lessons. Potentials and Challenges introduces teachers to new media in general and in particular to e-tools, e-learning strategies and new didactic ideas (self guided, collaborative, case- based learning).
