Abstract

Learning is a process of acquiring knowledge for the purpose of improvement on one’s life style. It is an activity that goes on throughout one’s life time. The purpose of learning is growth. Human minds, unlike bodies can continue the process of growth as long as life exists. To remain productive and relevant to oneself in particular and the society in general, every human being needs to constantly learn. Today learning has metamorphosized from the traditional way of learning to technology-assisted method. The aim of this work is to discuss distance learning programmes and how developing country like Nigeria has managed its distance learning programmes amidst lack of power and Internet facilities, which are necessary ingredients for the efficient management and administration of distance leaning courses.
