Abstract

Over the last ten years LEARN has provided a wide range online courses destined for senior high school students. These courses have been offered online using a synchronous delivery platform which integrates a number of technological applications. The underlying philosophy for this delivery model was to promote teacher-student interactivity and encourage cognitive engagement. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the program detailing this innovate pedagogical approach was conducted in the spring of 2009. The presentation for the Best Practice session will highlight the results of this study and review the potential impact on e-learning for high school students and online educators.
