Abstract
Abstract: During the 2007-2008 school year, USAID’s Primary Education Project (PEP) designed, developed, and implemented a plan to pilot the use of instructional technology in 14 primary schools in Macedonia. A component of this plan called for providing hardware, software, and wireless internet access in the schools. Teachers from each of the 14 schools were selected to participate in training sessions designed to introduce changes in pedagogical practice to take advantage of new hardware and access. In addition to the basic training in information management and communication, teachers were given the tools to create a nation-wide network for support among teachers. This paper will discuss the design, implementation, and results of this project.
