Abstract
Digital Storytelling is growing in popularity. It can be used as a learning strategy in multiple content areas, including increasing reading comprehension. This paper examines the alignment between the digital storytelling process and the scientific-based reading research comprehension recommendations of the National Reading Panel. It also examines the effect that creating a digital story has on teachers' understandings of how digital storytelling can be used to increase reading comprehension.
