Abstract

At WU, the University of Economics and Business in Vienna, flexibilization of learning and teaching spaces is important for several reasons, e.g. the international programs. Flexible learning in this context should be both asynchronous and synchronous, and independent of location. Within the project Future Learning Experience (FLEX), WU has been piloting immersive learning and teaching usage scenarios. The contribution places a focus on virtual spaces for synchronous settings, where students can meet and elaborate competences. Examples for hybrid teaching in a Virtual Reality Campus (VR Campus) and the work in replicas of real rooms (360 degree scenarios) are provided. Additionally, teacher training, support and exchange with other universities accompany the Future Learning Experience (FLEX) project.
