Abstract

It is universally agreed that information literacy skills are essential in student learning Information literacy skills facilitate student self-directed learning and critical thinking skills. More importantly, information literacy is an enabling factor in one?s successful function in society. In recent years, there is a growing advocacy for information literacy in higher education process. The World Wide Web adds a crucial dimension to student information literacy skills, presenting a challenge to university students. This study was conducted in a large urban university in the United States. The research instrument was a survey questionnaire measuring electronic information literacy skills. This presentation will report the results of the study.
