Abstract

This paper describes work in progress for one strand of a large regional project in the UK aiming to share on-line teaching resources between partners delivering higher education. Three modules which run within the University, will each share content and assessment with two colleges and monitor the outcomes. We intend to explore how e-Learning systems, tools and resources can be used cross-institutionally within a region, develop practical guidelines for their implementation and identify the issues which need to be addressed in order to optimise the chance of successful sharing. Whilst the government agenda in funding this project is support for widening participation through sustaining regional partnerships, the departmental agenda is driven by a need to assure the quality of the student experience in those colleges where courses are franchised. Data will be collected before, during and after the running of the modules and analysed using two theoretical frameworks.
