New teacher discussion boards are particularly well suited to creating a collaborative community for novice teacher support by their flexible, borderless, and innovative nature. The needs of the community grow and change with the participants. Novice teachers who collaborate with, learn from, and make use of the knowledge created by these networks help address teacher attrition and teacher shortages. This best practices article describes a teacher networks created at Central Washington University in Ellensburg Washington, USA.
