Abstract

Abstract: Project (DEEP) at Western Michigan University (WMU) funded by a 2000 PT3 Implementation and a 2000ThinkQuest Catalyst grant is tapping into the power of both new Internet communication tools and the ancient arts of storytelling to prepare future English teachers. English teachers that will in turn be able to successfully engage their future students in various forms of digital engaged learning. They are being prepare and motivated to combine the power of the narrative story and other interactive forms of communication with digital video and other multimedia technologies to create highly engaging teaching and learning applications for both their future K-12 and current preservice classrooms.
