Principal factors of an audio reading delivery mechanism: Evaluating educational use of the iPod

Abstract
Audio readings were introduced into two courses (ten offerings) using Apple Computer's iPod audio player for delivery. A total of 20 audio files were created to use in the courses. Results suggested three significant factors: preference, usability, and experience. End-of-course surveys indicated significantly higher satisfaction scores for those courses with audio readings compared to those courses without audio readings. The underlying structure of these results is examined to determine how learners respond to audio delivery of course reading materials.
