Abstract
The reduction from 15 to 14 weeks of teaching in the modules attended by the 4th year University College London Medical School students resulted in the removal of most tutorials on gynaecological pathology under the Women’s Health and Communicable Diseases Module. Recognising the visual impact of pathology and its importance in gynaecology, technology-enhanced learning was developed by formulating different clinical scenarios for an interactive virtual learning platform activity – “Moodle Lesson”. It is aimed to emulate patient based learning and provide an effective replacement for the lost pathology teaching sessions. This paper includes an illustration on how a Lesson was structured and a discussion on the choice of the platform activity, the challenges encountered in developing the project including funding, and impression of value as teaching resource.
