Abstract

With the ubiquity of technology in society and the growing need of learners to be able to access their learning and make social connections for collaboration in ways that suit them on an individual level, post-secondary institutions must make major adjustments in how they operate. In this paper, changes in learner needs are reviewed and matched against the context of current learning access modes, including face-to-face, blended, and blended online. A vision of multi-access learning (Irvine, 2009) is explored that promotes flexibility in access to learning within the context of social media and mobile learning.
