Abstract

There is a demand for universities to rapidly grow the repository of high quality online courses at a low cost to the institution. Universities are attempting to adapt structures, processes and programs in response to this demand. We are at a critical pressure point for challenging the assumptions, culture and organizational structure of existing traditional universities. Several models and organizational structures exist for online course development in higher education. This presentation will describe one model that successfully meets the demands of the institutions and learners. This flexible organizational model will also allow universities to better respond to new opportunities in education at a national and international level, with the prospect of rapidly changing where, when, how and for what purpose education is delivered.
