Abstract

This paper reports the cumulative results of four case studies of web searching behavior of children, adolescents, older adults, and differences in searching behavior between males and females. Documents comprised of research and scholarly papers that were published during the first decade of this millennium were selectively included in this study. Similarities and differences in web searching behavior were studied and are reported by age level and sex. The implications of the findings for training, web design, and development of browsers are identified.
