Abstract
The advantages of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to pre-service teachers in an alternative diploma program are presented in this study. The assumption was that pre-service teachers owning an academic degree in mathematics, sciences or technology, as well as having several years of experience in the field and who have advanced technological skills will further implement ICT naturally and efficiently and improve their confidence in the classroom as well as broaden their teaching skills. The findings pinpointed that technology-oriented students have high expectations for their future as teachers, both professionally and in their plans to integrate technology in their teaching. The results presented here indicate that these students are the necessary workforce for integrating ICT in schools.
