Abstract

Abstract: Eritrea became independent on May 24 1993. Ever since efforts have been underway to revise and update the curriculum under conventional education and to ensure a uniform access and equity to education, besides quality and relevance, as a measure of reduction of poverty and rapid educational transformation. But soon it realized the task quite elusive and formidable due to its geographical and demographical conditions. To quickly bridge the growing gap of knowledge as a measure of poverty reduction, within the framework of action of Dakar resolution concerning the EFA and MDGs, the Eritrean Government veered round to the Media Education as a sustainable alternative, which of late emerged in as a major choice to rely upon in line with the philosophy of UNESCO and ADEA. It is against the backdrop a strategy paper Media Education in Eritrean Education has been developed by the author which formed the basis for developing an instructional design through Media and ICT.
