Abstract

Many people use interactive whiteboards in their instruction. We are using SMART Board™ Interactive whiteboards as a central part of RACOL, a video-based distance education program. There are a number of programs available to immediately broadcast SMART Board™ interactions over the Internet. These tend to use a lot of bandwidth, hence are usually only available on broadband networks. Our application is in a rural area where bandwidth is limited. We wish to store, then stream the interactive whiteboard interactions in conjunction with an audio and video feed. This paper discusses the issues in, and some solutions towards streaming SMART Board™ interactions.
