Abstract
This panel is tailored for graduate students and other professionals preparing for and seeking faculty positions, and current faculty seeking a new academic appointment. Four current faculty members representing a variety of academic placements will share their experiences and perspectives of the job search process before inviting the audience to join the conversation. We will share lessons learned from our own process on the job market, transitioning to new academic positions, making geographical and career choices while considering families and partners, and our observations from serving on search committees.
