Abstract

While much has been written conceptually about the structure and potential of digital portfolios, the authors suggest that more dialogue surrounding the assessment of these portfolios in teacher education must occur. Through a university-wide collaborative effort, an interdisciplinary committee created a rubric for the assessment of a newly required digital portfolio for all teacher education majors on campus. Though research and evaluation activities are in their infancy within our university, the sharing of knowledge, materials, and resources is critical to the timely and effective use of digital portfolios within the context of a university-wide contingency of stakeholders.
