Abstract

Examines the role of library and information science faculty in terms of the three functions of a professor defined by Knapp (1972): research, informational, and character-developing. Results of several surveys are used to discuss professors' activities in and attitudes toward three service areas: students, the profession, and the institution. (45 references) (NRP)
