Abstract
Online technologies continue to impact teaching and training. Keeping up with competencies required in modern learning environments is a challenge for staff developers, online teachers and trainers and instructional designers. This symposium will address contemporary topics of relevance to public, private and academic organizations and individuals interested in the development of competencies instructor and learner competencies. Experienced professionals associated with the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction will present different points of view on the evolution of instructor and learner competencies. Presentations based on the updated instructor competencies recently validated by the Board will provide participants with opportunities for in-depth discussions on the importance of these competencies to hire staff, advise institutions, conduct skill audits for teachers and students, prepare professional development programs, and support learners.
