Abstract

Successful learning communities connect participants so that they can share ideas and construct knowledge in a safe, collegial atmosphere. The benefits included reduced isolation as a result of educators from multiple constituencies working collaboratively together. This presentation describes the process and outcomes of building a technology learning community to increase teacher candidate and faculty use of technology in elementary schools and in higher education. The willingness to take risks, and work toward continuous improvement characterized this professional learning community.
