Abstract

It is difficult for teachers to select and develop appropriate motivational tactics for courses because the tactics depend on a number of factors. Therefore, many teachers need assistance through a systematic motivational design process to improve instruction. We have developed a system that supports improvement of motivational tactics through two functions: analyzing the results of a questionnaire whereby students evaluate a course and suggesting motivational tactics for instructional improvement on the basis of corresponding student responses. After students fill and submit the questionnaire, the system analyzes them and proposes motivational tactics reflecting the analysis results. We administer the questionnaire via the Internet. For convenience, we distribute a questionnaire access ticket with a QR code containing the URI of the questionnaire website. The Teacher can immediately check the results and select motivational tactics suggested on the website.
