Abstract
This case study described the process used by one faculty to publish a dissertation in order to make it available through digital text bookstores and thus to extend its use and availability. Schön’s concept of reflection-in-action and Louden’s 16 categories for pedagogical reflection organized the faculty member’s thinking processes and the documentation of the changes that occurred during the publication process and the rationale for such changes. Although this type of publication is easy to develop for “production,” academic organizations need to establish guidelines regarding how such works should be considered in the tenure and promotion process.
