Abstract

BluePrint for Transformation is a conceptual model underlying a one-year long study called eTeaching and eLearning at West Chester University, devoted to professional development at the university to educate, enable, and empower faculty to use technology in order to enhance student achievement. The ultimate goal of the project was to involve WCU students in "relevant, interactive, accessible learning through the inventive use of digital technologies, interactive communication, and distance learning environments created by university faculty". An intermediate goal was accomplished by advancing technology literacy among faculty, using face-to-face interaction and web-based tools.A website constructed during the study, a Blueprint for Transformation www.wcuelearning.org, shares the insights gleaned from the year- one study. It documents the entire project and offers plan for replicating the success of creating human capital through professional development.
