Abstract
The purpose of this presentation is to show participants the use of Microsoft Sway in making engaging and interactive digital stories for students with disabilities in K-12 classrooms. Studies have shown that digital stories enhance learning in students with disabilities in K-12 classrooms (Rivera, Hudson, Weiss, & Zambone, 2017). The use of cloud computing has gained popularity in the 21st century classrooms and are increasingly being used in promoting learning in students with disabilities. Some research studies have reported the benefits of digital storytelling to improve students’ engagement and motivation to complete the academic tasks (Niemi & Multisilta, 2016; Smeda, Dakich, & Sharda, 2014). This round table presentation will outline the important aspects Microsoft Sway in developing interactive digital stories for students with disabilities. This research presentation will also highlight the issues while using the cloud computing technology in K-12 classrooms.
