Abstract
Abstract: This paper provides insight into issues related to children’s mathematics homework. In particular, it studies the use of Quick Response (QR) codes as a means to bring congruency between pedagogy used at school and at home in an effort to assist children with homework endeavours. At the same time, the QR codes are used to provide feedback to teachers regarding students’ efforts and successes with their homework. Students have identified an increase in motivation and success with their homework as well as an increased interest in their learning at home. This feedback may affect subsequent classroom teaching. Using mobile devices, the QR codes provide a link to just-in-time currently accepted mathematics practices using social media networks.
