Abstract
This paper will explore the experiences and perceptions of collaborative learning and peer assessment amongst part-time undergraduate students. It reports on a study into the learning experience of part-time undergraduate students undertaking the final year of a BA(Hons) Business and Management degree. In particular it explores the learning opportunities through the use of discussion boards and online peer assessment. Based on a review of the literature concerning online collaborative learning and peer assessment the research seeks to examine whether learners perceive improved learning through the use of discussion forums and peer assessment. It concludes with recommenations for improved student participation and understanding of the student experiences of collaborative learning and cooperative peer assessment.
