Abstract
This brief paper describes the Innovative Teaching and Learning (ITL) Research project, a study that is designed to gather and compare information about technology-supported education reform across diverse country contexts. This paper will provide a brief description of some of the key influences affecting technology-supported educational innovation in each of the 4 countries participating in the pilot year of research, and then look across them to focus on comparable ways of viewing educational innovation and develop a shared vocabulary for discussing it among an international community of researchers and educators. Finally, this paper highlights how the lessons learned in the pilot year of this study will inform improvements to the research design and methods in subsequent years, when a larger group of countries is expected to participate in the project.
