Abstract

The paper describes a seminar scenario in which discussions are supported by a computer tool. With this tool, an active participation of students in discussions can be reached and the results of the discussion can be used for further distribution and processing in a digital format immediately. The features of this tool "Cool Modes" are outlined and the technological framework of the tool is then explained in further detail. Experiences with the tool show the impact of Cool Modes on group discussions in a seminar setting. Finally, perspectives for future use and development of the tool are discussed.
