Abstract

In contemporary society, the maximization of the use of new tools for communication and interaction has presented challenges to the understanding of social relations. Human experience in new communities of learning and teaching based on the use of World Wide Web, for example, requires the reconfiguration of the traditional roles of hierarchy. In this context, this essay starts from a genealogical approach of the term community, followed by several discussions on the subject, having as a central issue the reflection about some questioning related to Social Technologies of Communication, Information and Knowledge. In the second part, the topic discussed is the construction of a collective text through NING platform, which was used as a practical experiment in the first semester of 2010.
