Abstract
The University’s Information Technology Service has offered electronic service with free of charge for the University students in Midwest, USA. Throughout the services, the students are able to watch instructional training videos for their own learning. The author, as an instructor for an undergraduate course, has applied these free services into the course to see usefulness of such service in terms of electronic learning. The author, as an instructor for the course utilized for this paper, has investigated how instructional videos could have impact on student e-learning: Whether watching instructional videos helps or hinder students’ technical knowledge learning, due to possible cognitive overload, without the instructor’s lecture.
