Abstract
Most Learning Management Systems offer a rich set of communication, assessment and course management tools, yet the content creation and content management tools in many Learning Management Systems are adequate at best. Our organization has answered this problem by supplementing our institutional LMS (Blackboard) with a versatile and extensible Content Management System (Ektron). In addition to user-friendly content creation tools, Ektron provides enterprise-level tools for managing, approving and versioning course content, as well as an API which makes it possible to supplement standard editing tools with pedagogic tools such as Self-test Quiz, Polls and Tool Tips. At this session, we will share some of the challenges, advantages and outcomes of this hybrid delivery model, and conclude with an opportunity for audience questions and comments.
